Sweet Potato Mash

This extra-creamy sweet potato mash is a wonderful side dish for any holiday menu. You can serve it with any roasted protein, but it’s especially good with ham and turkey.

Serves: 6-8 Preparation: 30 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

  1. In large saucepan of boiling salted water, cook sweet potatoes, Russet potatoes and garlic for 10 to 12 minutes or until very tender; drain and return to saucepan.
  2. Add half the butter, warm cream, cream cheese, salt and pepper; mash until smooth.
  3. To serve, top with remaining butter and garnish with chives.

Tips

To warm cream, transfer to microwave-safe dish and microwave on HIGH for 15 to 20 seconds or until just heated through.

Drizzle sweet potato mash with 2 tbsp (30 mL) pure maple syrup or hot honey before serving if desired.
