Tomato Basil Cheese Bread

  • 3 cups (750ml) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (125ml) Black Diamond® Old Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • ½ cup (125ml) Black Diamond® Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup (60ml) granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp (20ml) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5ml) dried basil
  • ½ tsp (2ml) salt (optional)
  • 1 ½ cups (375ml) Lactantia® PūrFiltre 3.25% Milk
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup (125ml) Lactantia® Tomato Basil Butter, melted, divided


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C)
  2. In a large bowl, stir together flour, Black Diamond® cheeses, sugar, baking powder, basil and salt if using.
  3. 1. In a separate bowl, whisk Lactantia® PūrFiltre milk, egg, and melted ¼ cup (60 ml) Lactantia® Tomato Basil Butter. Stir milk mixture into dry ingredients until combined.
  4. Pour batter into a greased 9”x5” (2L) loaf pan. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Pour remaining melted butter over loaf and bake for an additional 25 minutes or until a tester inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wired rack to cool. Great served warm!
